Scomadi, the UK based scooter company, are taking orders for their much awaited TL 300 via the IndieGoGo platform.
Their 50 and 125cc offerings have a enthusiastic and loyal fan base and as of 5/Dec/2014 they have nearly 10% of their goal. There has been some concerns about the use of such a method to ‘buy a bike’, but Scomadi have responded with this:
The idea behind the IndieGoGo campaign is to see if the scooter community would get behind and support Scomadi so they would be able to produce more and faster to meet demands by the public. You will appreciate Scomadi are a small company and don’t have the deep pockets of other larger automotive companies. However, with or without the support of the IndieGoGo campaign the Scooters will be getting built and delivered – that is certain.
There’s plainly a distinct Lambretta look to the Scomadi range, but they say that their machines are built with current demands and expectations in mind – a ‘Modern Classic’ then…
The first 100 will be hand built in the UK by Scomadi themselves with a second wave planned later in 2015.
A single 278cc 4-stroke engine with 4 valve SOHC that develops 22 BHP and 22.3Nm at 5000 rpm, the TL300 has an automatic (CVT gearbox) that will scoot along very nicely!
