Peugeot Scooter sales rose significantly in 2015:
Peugeot scooter sales in the UK grew by 38% in 2015*, significantly out-performing the booming market for two-wheeled commuter transport.
Figures released by the UK Motorcycle Industry Association show that more ‘commuter sized’ motorcycles and scooters were sold during 2015 than for any other year since comparative records began in 1983.
During 2015 more than 43,700 new machines of all makes between 51-125cc were sold, an increase of 15.5% compared to the previous year. Motorcycles and scooters of this size are particularly popular for commuting.
“We’re fortunate that Peugeot’s colour palette appeals to British tastes – there’s everything from subtle finishes, like pearl white or titanium, through pastel shades to vibrant colours. Although commuter transport needs to be practical, it doesn’t have to be drab and modern shoppers want products, from a mobile phone to a fridge, that are visually pleasing”.
“Commuters looking for vintage style and authentic charm go for the Django, while the Speedfight 125 appeals to riders who are after something with a sporty look and performance. Then there’s the big wheel Tweet and, if you’re after maxi scooter specification and comfort, then Peugeot’s Citystar and Satelis 125s fit the bill.”
