DoubleR Race AIR by BMW – a new paradigm for track motorcyclists…

This from their PR:
Intelligent protection you will always look great in: the DoubleR Race AIR was developed for the race track, so it looks look like a racing suit – but it is capable of much more. The protective system integrated in the upper back section protects the neck and shoulders within 45 milliseconds.
After all, anyone out and about on the race tracks of the world needs the fastest possible protection.

There is a highly complex electronic system constantly at work in the background so as to ensure the DoubleR Race AIR’s inflatable protector really is only triggered in a dangerous situation. Seven sensors in the system hardware analyse the rider’s movements all the time. Due to an intelligent algorithm, the API system (Active Protection Inflatable) is able to assess the severity of a fall. The system is only triggered when necessary. For example, it is not triggered on falls at speeds of under 50 km/h, nor does it take effect in situations where the dynamics does not require the additional safeguard of the inflatable protector. It provides efficient protection for the shoulder and neck area within 45 milliseconds.

Effective protection you can count on: the DoubleR Race AIR was developed for the race track by our cooperation partner Dainese as a result of years of research and in line with BMW Motorrad criteria and specifications. In addition to meeting the very highest technical standards, the four C.A.R.E. criteria were of course crucial to the development of the DoubleR Race AIR. Experience the technical perfection and precision of our suit and find out for yourself about the fastest product we have ever made.

C.A.R.E.

Safety is now something you can wear. It is ensured by BMW Motorrad C.A.R.E. – our “Concept of Advanced Rider Equipment”. The concept is based on the four criteria of safety, innovation, comfort and quality. C.A.R.E. is the self-imposed BMW Motorrad obligation to apply the very highest standards to material and workmanship while constantly endeavouring to seek out even better solutions and set a new benchmark.
